Treatments

Ms Bita Manzouri is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and is an experienced corneal & cataract surgeon. She is qualified to treat a wide range of conditions which affect your vision and lifestyle. 

Your initial consultation will enable you to discuss your eye condition and how your symptoms affect your lifestyle. Your eyes will undergo a detailed examination including a sight test and various pertinent ocular scans. This will then be followed by a discussion of your treatment options and the risks and benefits of each option. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions. 

In preparation for your appointment, it is extremely important that contact lenses are removed in advance of your appointment: 2 weeks for rigid lenses and 1 week for soft lenses. Even soft contact lenses can severely affect our scanners' ability to accurately image your eye. If you are able, please bring along any previous glasses and contact lens prescriptions to your appointment.  

Pupil dilating eye drops (mydriatics) may be required; these can blur your vision for a few hours and may affect your ability to drive after your appointment.

• Cataract surgery (including premium IOLs, toric IOLs, mini-monovision)

• Complex cataract surgery, including secondary IOL placement following complicated surgeries

• Corneal Transplantation (PK, DALK, DSAEK, DMEK)

• Keratoconus, including collagen cross linking

• Minor lid procedures including chalazion removal

• General Ophthalmology

• Specialist interest in allergic eye disease in adults and children

• YAG Laser Capsulotomy for capsular opacification

• Medical management of glaucoma

While referrals from GPs or optometrists are preferred, Ms Manzouri is happy to see self-referrals too. She is able to see self-pay patients and insured patients.
